• Testing that is solely focused on web applications and web sites.
  • Purpose of this testing is to ensure that applications are up and running on various browsers/Windows Versions before the applications GO-LIVE to the end users.
  • Browsers that are used as part of web application testing are Internet Explorer, Firefox, Google Chrome and Safari.
  • Application is also checked for forward and backward compatibility of browsers, i.e. Currently Running Browser Version plus two previous versions of the browser. This is especially done for Firefox and Internet Explorer.
  • Applications are also tested for Windows compatibility. A set of fixed tests are run every release cycle to ensure that highly visible and most used features of the application are working on various versions of Windows, e.g- Windows XP, Windows7 to name a few.
